Someone on a BDSM List I am on
recently asked, "What is The House of Darkwatch?"
Below was My response.

Please note that The House of Darkwatch has gone through many changes over the years.
While the Spirit is still there some of the faces have changed. One day soon I need to update or rewrite this article.

I have never actually sat down and tried to define The House of Darkwatch. However since the question arose I shall try to shed some light.

First and foremost The House of Darkwatch is Me.  Prophett, Lord, The House of Darkwatch.  It is a concept I created many years ago while in the SCA, (medieval reenacting group).  It (hopefully) embodies certain "beliefs".  Things such as honesty, and honor.  Although not written down, it is almost a code of chivalry per se.

Secondly it is My sub ladyshivers.  For without her it would not have grown as it has.  Often times she runs alot of the "daily" things that go on as I do the "Lord" thing and watch over The House.  As with any good House of olden times she is as much the backbone as I.

Thirdly (?) it is a close knit BDSM" family" W/we have in Oklahoma City and Dallas.  Not officially a group at all rather a bunch of people who get together to feast, socialize, and play without any politics to get in the way.  They are the ones who give "body" to The House of Darkwatch.  In medieval days T/they would be the "Court".

Fourth is the Yahoo list I maintain with 112 members from across the county.  These are people ladyshivers; I and O/others have met in O/our travels to various BDSM events.  They are O/ones W/we call friends and have either met or hope to one day meet in person.  These are the "people of the land" so to speak.

Fifth it is the website I created and maintain to help share information about the BDSM Lifestyle and My journey in it.

Sixth it is the name itself.  The House of Darkwatch, The House, Darkwatch, HOD.  The name chosen because in medieval times a small land holding was called a House.  Usually run by family with a Lord as the head.  I chose Darkwatch for several reasons.  Some for personal reasons and also because I like the way it sounded.

Seventh I guess I would have to say it what I dream it was back then.  A peaceful place where people live, love, and share.  It is a place in My heart, mind and soul which embodies the ideals I hold dear.

Ask Me what a car is and I can show Y/you.  Ask, "What is The House of Darkwatch?" and until the day the castle is built the above is the best I can do.
